On 27 August 2022, GIME successfully held the Fall 2022 Commencement Ceremony and Entrance Lecture via online. Participating in this ceremony were all the new students in the autumn of 2022, leaders of the SIS and representatives of teachers.

Firstly, Ms. Ding Xiaoyu, Director of SIS, who expressed congratulations to the graduates and high expectations to students in the future, made a speech. She also emphasized that all of teachers in SIS will do their best to help every student grow and achieve success.

Secondly, Anthony Newton, vice director of the General and Transitional Studies Department, gave a speech. As an experienced teacher, he advised freshmen to be positive and open-minded, as well as to use their time sensible .

The third part was a video presentation by alumni, who expressed their best wishes to freshmen and gave pertinent advice on life and study.

Next, Mr. Gao Feng, Deputy Secretary of SIS, gave a lecture on "The first lesson of university" to Freshmen. Through some cases, he guided them to understand the attitude of thinking and the way of getting along with others in their life.

Finally, Mr.Tang Chuanzhong, Associate director of SIS, explained the teaching and management services, Mr.Zhu Xingchen, director from student support office explained civilisation and behavioural norms, and Mr Zhou Yu, director from the International Cooperation office, explained planning and guidance for studying abroad.

Students actively participated in this event, and all teachers and students were enthusiastic and full of spirit. The opening ceremony and entrance lecture was completed successfully.
