Program overview

The Global Institute of Management & Economic (GIME) at Dongbei University of Finance and Economic (DUFE) 

offers a MSc in TM (Tourism Management) based on teaching and research, complemented with practical application of 

learning during internship.

This problem-based and project-oriented program seeks to develop students as much as professionals by conveying a 

comprehensive understanding of theoretical, methodological and practical approaches necessary in order to understand 

and tackle core, contemporary and emerging issues related to complex global phenomena and their implications for local 

sustainability, policy-making, and decision-making processes related to tourism as well as tourism destination development, 

planning and airline management.

Here our students take part in an interesting combination of English taught courses, independent research and study visits, 

allowing students to utilize the advantages of our tight connection with many international companies and, by that, to integrate 

real-world application and academic theory.

Internship Opportunities

GIME will arrange variety of industrial workshops and enterprise visits for our program students, the companies combine 

both local organizations and multinational corporations. Students can participate in and experience organizational culture 

within Chinese business environment. With GIME’s assistances and arrangement, students will have an opportunity to complete 

their internships in world famous hotel & resort corporations in Dalian in the second year of the program, including Kempinski Hotel, 

Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hilton Hotel and Castle Hotel attached to Marriott Group. With our outstanding TM Master Degree and internship 

experience, our graduates will be very competitive in the job market in China and around the world.

Age requirement: 18 years and above

Academic entry requirement

Successful completion of an undergraduate degree with good grades and full transcripts

Applicants are required to provide recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors.

English language entry requirement

IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in all subskills) or equivalent

Applicants with IELTS 5.0 or below can enroll on Foundation courses prior to commencing their studies.

Tuition and program fee

35,000 RMB (5,400 USD approx.) for the first academic year; 35,000 RMB (5,400 USD approx.) for the next one and a half year
